'Owl Bear' Art Nouveau Print
This print was inspired by the work of Alphonse Mucha, one of the great Art Nouveau visionaries of the late 1800s. Mucha had an incredible way of taking the vast grandeur of nature's beauty, and distilling it down to a simple, elegant design.
I was also inspired by another Art Nouveau genius, Ivan Bilibin, who created narrative works inspired by Russian and Slavic folk legends. Bilibin imbued his work with a sense of drama and danger. His heroes and legends feel so real inside the illustrated panel.
Between Mucha and Bilibin, I was inspired to create a balance nature's beauty and savagery in one captivating design. I hope this owl bear gives you both a sense of awe and terror.
