Bamboo Flute Tanuki
This tanuki is playing a takebue, which is a kind of Japanese bamboo flute. His broad hat and traveler's cloak give him the appearance of a wandering musician. Bright autumn leaves suggest a festive feel. Takebue flutes are often used in Noh, Kabuki and also traditional folk music.
