My biggest piece of advice to anyone visiting Kyoto: rent a bicycle!  (And go in mid November when the fall colors are at their peak.)

Compared to the train, sure, it takes longer to get around. But there are so many delightful surprises waiting in the quiet side streets of Kyoto.

The kitty you see featured in this print is one such surprise. I was pedaling down a little alley, and passed a temple that was falling into ruin. It was the perfect place for this cat to perch on the roof and soak up some sunshine, away from the throngs of tourists. 

I dismounted the bike and spent a few moments taking photos of the lovely little scene.

If you've visited Kyoto before, I hope this print brings back fond memories. If you plan to go in the future, go in mid November, and RENT A BIKE!

The paper measures 13.5 x 17 cm (about 5 x 7 inches).

Each print is signed by Jed Henry and numbered.

The color was applied in the traditional Japanese method, with hand-carved blocks, ground pigments, and hand printing on handmade paper.
