'Mount Fuji at Sunset' Woodblock Print
This print was originally designed by Kawase Hasui in the early 1900s, about one hundred years ago. Hasui was one of the most prolific shin-hanga designers of his day. You can actually watch him work in this old post-war film, which someone has kindly shared on YouTube.
This piece was carved and printed by Camilo Díaz Ocampo, a craftsman in Mexico who is diligently teaching himself the art of Japanese printmaking. He did such a lovely job on this print, I can't wait to see what he achieves in the future! By purchasing this print, 75% of revenue goes directly to Camilo. We thank you for investing in the future of this craft!
This item measures 6 x 8 inches (15 x 21 cm). The paper is 100% cotton French printmaking paper. It is much stronger than our usual Japanese paper, and feels great to the touch. Every print is numbered.
