'School for the Gifted' Giclée Print

This print is set in the Meiji Era, the time period when Japan was transitioning from a medieval caste system, to a modern open society. In this time period public education began to be commonly available for all. The students are wearing school uniforms accurate to the time period.

The blue caption is done in the style of a Meiji Era advertisement. The center, bold text says 吾輩の英雄義塾, which translates to 'My Hero School'.

On the right edge of the blue caption it says 大日本静岡縣結田府市, which translates to 'Musutafu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Great Japan', which is where the show actually takes place.

The white caption reads:

益なき時こそ挑戦することが真の英雄の大前提!!

Which translates to:

"When there's nothing to be gained, rising to the challenge at those times is surely the mark of a true hero!"

We also designed custom school seals for this print. They can be found in red ink. The top one says ひろあか, which is read phonetically "Hero Aka", short for "Hero Academy".  The bottom seal says the same, but in kanji: 寛明.
